Building and Maintenance meeting- Feb 25, 2010- CBMS

(Present- Don Schneider, Tom Drake, Scott Rathke, Michelle Baker, Bud Towndrow)

State Farm purchase- Michelle updates as to progress of the property…still early in the process with lots of permits still to be applied for.  The prospective buyer wants us to weigh in to support the project.   For now, we will wait to get into the process until it gets further along, and await word from an official permitting process to weigh in.  Official concerns- use of our road and safety; impact on our leach field; feasibility of overall project; noise factor.

Solar Grant update- Walk-throughs are today from 10-12.  Due to the snow, we will not allow access to the roof.  Michelle says that we will be the first of the ten schools to get the RFB process going.

CB Sidewalk update- Michelle working on getting an RFP out.  She is in contact with Banwell Architects to get the original plans.  By end of next week, Michelle will have the RFP out.  The board will consider an engineer the first meeting in April, and entertain construction bids in May/June.  Work to be done this summer.

L/T Maintenance- Michelle is working on format for L/T maintenance plan.  She will send out what she has in the coming weeks, and we will work to fill out the plan accordingly.  L/T maintenance reserve fund expenditures need to be voted on by the public.  Goal- come up with a solid definition of what constitutes L/T versus S/T- cost, size/scope of project, etc, and a policy that backs up this definition.

S/T Maintenance- a plan has been generated to look out 5 years to plan for S/T maintenance needs.  This money needs to be spent in the year it is purchased.  Goal- bring S/T maintenance need for this year to an early April meeting to decide on purchases for this year.

Snowplowing- Less plowing needs this year due to lack of snow.  Both schools are pleased with the work being done with those who awarded the bids.  When we put out bids in the Fall of 2010, check with the towns to see if they would be interested in getting involved with the plowing.

Next Meeting- April 2nd, 7AM at TB
